Merthyr Town’s final game of the season in front of 389 of the martyrs faithful turned out to be a close fought affair.
We could have taken the lead on 20 minutes when a Marcus Griffiths corner was met by Andrew Thomas, but his effort hit the bar.
On 23 minutes we could have been ahead again, this time Griffiths cut inside fired left foot shot hit legs of keeper Filkin.
We were made to pay for our early misses when on 34 mins Russell Legg headed in Dan Wise cross. Bridport 1 up.
3 minutes into the 2nd half and Merthyr draw level with Scott Armitage getting the Martyrs goal.
Craig Stein replaces Joe Leahy and Craig put’s Merthyr 2-1 up on 79 minutes, but straight from their kick off Sam Charles scores for Bridport to put them back on level terms.
Merthyrs 2nd sub come on with Newall replacing Clarke.
No more score in the game and a point a piece which does Bridport no good in their quest for promotion as they finish in 3rd place, Martyrs end the end the season on a 12 game unbeaten run.
